General Education A Penn State degree is not merely "job training." In fact, a major component of any Penn State degree includes taking a number of courses known as General Education courses. In fact, all Penn State students must complete 45 credits of General Education courses in order to graduate; this is about one third of all of your course requirements. Determining which courses you will take is an important and complicated task. At the bottom of this page, we have provided several resources which you can utitlize to help you more fully understand General Education at Penn State. While you may feel that these courses are not entirely relevant to your major, they serve several purposes, including exploration and augmentation of your major coursework and can help make you into a well-rounded citizen of the world.
