Several workshops and seminars are offered throughout the year. Another option
available is to join our Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Center for training and
assistance with anything dealing with mold filling simulation. Members of the Center
also have access to some of our other training classes.

Who should attend Penn State Behrend's workshops and seminars?
Anyone involved in any level of the development and production
of plastic parts will benefit from these workshops and seminars. Plant personnel,
engineers, purchasing, sales, and management have all benefited from attending these
workshops and seminars.
Why come to Penn State Behrend?
1. World-Class Facilities
Penn State Behrend's 9,000-square-foot plastics processing lab is hailed as
the most advanced and well-equipped of its kind in the country. Most major
product manufacturing methods are represented in the lab. Injection molding
is featured, with microprocessor-controlled machines ranging from seventeen
to two hundred tons. They are supported with a complete selection of auxiliary
equipment, data acquisition systems, and a measurement and quality assurance
lab. For design, our four 25-seat Pentium PC labs include complete software
packages from ProEngineer, Moldflow, ANSYS and others.
2. Hands-on Training
Learn by doing. The emphasis of all Penn State Behrend's seminars and workshops
is practical application. The labs are used to reinforce the theory and are
invaluable to the learning experience.
3. Expert Instruction
The Plastics Engineering Technology program at Penn State Behrend is one of only
three in the country that is accredited by the Accreditation Board for
Engineering and Technology. The faculty are all industrially seasoned, which
enables them to provide the most relevant learning experiences for the students.
