Psi Chi, The National Psychology Honor Society
PSI CHI is a national organization dedicated to advancing the science of Psychology. Benefits of membership in Psi Chi include: Official recognition of the accomplishments of the members, grants for research, national and regional conventions, and research competitions. Undergraduates and graduates who are interested in the study of psychology and who meet the minimum qualifications are invited to apply for membership. If you are interested in becoming a member of Psi Chi and meet the qualifications below, contact Dr. Victoria Kazmerski or Dr. Dawn Blasko.
PSI CHI Requirements for Membership
- Completion of 9 semester hours of psychology.
- Registration for major or minor standing in psychology or for a program psychological in nature which is equivalent to such standings.
- Undergraduates who are elected to Psi Chi must rank in the upper 35 percent of their class in general scholarship and must demonstrate superior scholarship in psychology, earning an average grade of "B" or better in psychology courses. Psi Chi accepts the policy of the institution regarding grades.
- High standards of personal behavior.
- Two-thirds affirmative vote of those present at a regular meeting of the chapter.
- Members must pledge to devote at least 5 hours to service each semester.
Psychology Club
The purpose of the Psychology Club is to provide a fun way for those interested in psychology to get to know each other and to learn more about the field. All students interested in psychology regardless of major are invited to join. A nominal $5.00 membership fee is assessed each semester to help support the club's many activities.
