Behrend Lions Athletics

Athletics at Penn State Behrend continues to create

spirit and excitement on campus.

A founding member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), the Penn State Behrend Lions have developed a strong athletic tradition in the AMCC.  The Behrend Lions field twenty-one varsity teams in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). They also compete in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC), the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA), and the Mason-Dixon Conference for track and field.

Students benefit from a variety of outstanding facilities. The Junker Center, a $10.2 million athletics and recreation facility, provides the blue and white with a state-of-the-art indoor training space. In addition, new outdoor playing fields have been created for baseball, softball, soccer, and intramural activities. Students also benefit from outdoor tennis courts, and sand volleyball activities, and they can walk or hike at the nearby Wintergreen Gorge, part of the college's 725-acre campus.

Also, 20 intramural sports and a wide variety of recreational activities are available to students.
