Koman Named AMCC and ECAC Softball Pitcher of the Week (4/3/06)
Behrend
softball freshman sensation Julie Koman (McKees Rocks/Montour) was
named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher of the
Week on April 3. In addition, Koman was also selected as the
ECAC South Region
Pitcher of the Week. She improved her record this season to
8-2 winning three games this past week.
Koman pitched 18 innings in the three victories, allowing no runs,
and five hits as Behrend improved their record to 17-3 overall and
4-0 in the conference for the season. She currently leads the
AMCC in ERA (0.81) and in opposing batting average (.153).
This was her second selection this season as AMCC Pitcher of the
Week.
The blue and white have won their last six games and outscored
opponents 52-13 over that time.
The Behrend
Lions are in
action again on Thursday, April 6 when they host AMCC opponent
Hilbert (4-11, 2-4) in a doubleheader scheduled for 3:00 p.m. weather
permitting. Behrend then hits the road for a doubleheader with
Frostburg State (10-8, 6-0) on April 8.
