- Establish a network connection by plugging in a mobility network cable or visiting a wireless network “hotspot”. (Wireless users may have to manually connect to the wireless network. To do so, right-click on the wireless network icon displayed near your desktop clock. Choose the “View Available Wireless Networks” option and look for a listing named “pennstate”. Highlight this network and click the “Connect” button.)
- Start the VPN service by double clicking its desktop icon (see above).
- Choose the “ITS Wireless at Behrend” option and click the “Connect” icon.
- Authenticate with your Penn State Access Account user ID and password.
- When the VPN log-on process completes, access to the mobility or wireless network will have been established. Browse the web, map to University Park PASS storage space, or check email as needed.
- When you’ve completed your work and are ready to disconnect your computer from the network, double-click on the padlock icon that’s displayed near the clock on your desktop. In the resulting window, click the “Disconnect” button.
