All students admitted to a Penn State baccalaureate degree program are required to complete a First-Year Seminar. The seminar is to be completed during the first two semesters and is a graduation requirement for all baccalaureate programs. The First-Year Seminar is intended to be academic in content and format and has the following objectives:
To introduce students to University study
To introduce students to Penn State as an academic community, including fields of study and areas of interest available to students
To acquaint students with the learning tools and resources available at Penn State
To provide an opportunity for students to develop relationships with full-time faculty and other students in an academic area of interest to them
To introduce students to their responsibilities as part of the University community
The First-Year Seminar is a University requirement,
FIGS are not required but offer a unique and exciting way for Penn State Behrend students to become a part of the campus community!
